Welcome to the online home of the Jewish Life Center, home to Congregation Sha'arei Israel, Raleigh's Orthodox Congregation & Synagogue and your portal to the Raleigh Jewish Community. If you are looking to relocate to the Research Triangle, or somewhere nearby in the Tar Heel State, let us be the first to welcome you.

Raleigh has consistently been ranked as one of the top places to live in the United States (4. in Money's Top 50 Places to live in 2022). Our sages teach us that the physical welfare of a city is directly connected to its spiritual counterpart. It is no coincidence that our community boasts a full range of early childhood, toddler, youth and adult educational programs within our vibrant campus.

Please feel free to browse our site and see where you might feel most at home in our community.  We're glad to help you with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have.

For any comments, questions or concerns you can email us at: [email protected]

Mission Statement

Sha'arei Israel is founded on the principle that while Jews embrace many different levels of observance in their personal lives, there should be a center for Judaism where all Jews feel comfortable - No labels and non-judgmental. Every Jew, regardless of upbringing, religious inclination, or level of knowledge, has a right to the tools which bring about a better understanding of what it means to be a Jew.

Through understanding what the Torah and Mitzvot represent, and gaining a deeper appreciation of our history, we can come to realize the significance of our relationship with G‑d and fulfill our destiny.

At Chabad we consider it a distinct honor and privilege to be at your service in facilitating your Jewish journey. Browse through the site, and see what appeals to you. Give us a call, stop in to see what's going on, ask questions or join a program. But whatever you decide to do, the most important thing is to make sure that you are involved in the Jewish community. You will find strength, joy, and comfort in participating with others who are on the same path. You won't regret taking that first step into the door of the Jewish Life Center. We look forward to seeing you!
