Rabbi Mendy Wilschanski: Rabbi & Executive Director

Rabbi Wilschanski was born and raised in Morristown, NJ. He concluded his Rabbinic Studies at the Rabbinical College of America, graduating with a B.A. in Religious Studies. He received his Rabbinical Ordination from a group of Rabbis including Rabbi Lau, the Chief Rabbi of Israel.

Rabbi Wilschanski is passionate about spreading the light and warmth of Judaism throughout the spectrum of Jewish world, life and observance. His studies and rabbinical training has brought him to 6/7 continents, including Ukraine, Poland, Nigeria, the Carribbean Islands and Cambodia. Today, his life and energies are focused on the Jewish Community in Raleigh.

Rabbi Wilschanski is the Rabbi of Cong. Sha'arei Israel the Executive Director of the Jewish Life Center's extensive list of educational institutions and social programming. 

Rabbi Wilschanski enjoys adventure, sports, and spending time with his family and friends.

Morah Brocha Wilschanski: Rebbetzin & Executive Co-Director 

Morah Brocha was born and raised in Melbourne Australia. She completed her advanced seminary studies in Israel. Morah Brocha's passions are teaching and creating community. Her educational experience is vast, including at Beth Rivkah Ladies College, Merkos Women's Institute and Chabad Hebrew School of Melbourne.

Morah Brocha is the beloved Rebbetzin of our community, and she brilliantly co-directs the educational curriculum and social schedule of the Jewish Life Center. 

Morah Brocha enjoys quality time with her growing family, music, reading, painting, & bowling.

Rabbi Levi Weg: Rabbi & Youth Director

Rabbi Levi Weg grew up in a small Jewish community in Tulsa, OK. His journey in rabbinical studies has taken him to Yeshivas in Chicago, Manchester (UK), and Brooklyn, NY, giving him a deep understanding of both smaller and larger Jewish communities.

Whether leading a Pesach Seder in a small town in Ukraine or spreading the light of Chanukah in Denmark, he enjoys traveling to encourage and uplift Jewish life wherever needed.

Rabbi Levi Weg is excited to get to know the Raleigh Jewish community and looks forward to contributing to its growth and vibrancy.

Morah Chaya Weg: Rebbetzin & Youth Co-Director

Morah Chaya Weg was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. From an early age, she was actively involved in supporting her parents at the Chabad House of the University at Michigan.

Chaya pursued her higher education in early childhood development, earning her B.A. in Early Childhood Education.

Chaya’s passion for children’s education drives her commitment to nurturing young minds and guiding their growth. She is dedicated to creating environments where children can thrive and develop their unique potential. Chaya enjoys engaging in hands-on activities such as baking and art, finding joy in both creative expression and culinary delights.
